The OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act), signed into law by President Trump on July 4, 2025, increased fees for many types of requests for U.S. immigration benefits postmarked on or after July 22, 2025. The requests primarily targeted include the following: applications for:
(a) asylum,
(b) employment authorization cards (EADs) based upon asylum applications,
(c) special immigrant juveniles (SIJs), and
(d) Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
Additionally, additional fees will be charged for aliens who have asylum applications pending before the immigration courts (i.e. The Executive Office for Immigration Review).
More information is available on the specific USCIS webpage.
