The Trump Administration plans on implementing a new rule that would require international students to be granted immigration status in the USA until a "fixed date certain", four years into the future, rather than the open-ended "Duration of Status", which has been routinely issued since 1978, and lasted so long as the student visa holders did not violate U.S. immigration law while inside the USA.
